General Servicing: (from $22.25 to $39each*, please refer to our published price list for more details) General servicing uses a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the aircon blower and clear the choke at the drain pipe, it is not effective in removing dirt, gel liked substances nor bad smell from the fan coil. The benefits of "general Servicing" is often overly stated. Claims that it helps to improve the air quality, prevent water dripping and prolong the life-span of the air conditioner is really an over statement. But i have to agree that it improves the air flow (if your filters are dirty), makes the covers look cleaner and that may make you "feel good", although you may already be falling sick from a bacteria infested air conditioner. HydroJET (from $49 to $79 each*, please refer to our published price list for more details) HydroJET is ASTIQUER's proprietary cleaning method that uses high pressured water jet to flush the fan coil and blower. This method is used when the fan coil is not dirty but the circular fan blower is choked. Certain air conditioner models are built in such a way that the water tray (drain pan) cannot be dismantled (eg. Daikin FTK -9series, Toshiba inverter its newer series) or difficult to dismantle models ( Fujitsu, Fuji or Carrier General series). As such, there is a limited space for a vacuum brush to reach the circular fan blower. To clean the fan blower, a technician will have to dismantle the said blower (which will cost more), and often risk damaging the fan coil copper pipes. Actually, the answer is NO, the benefits are often overly stated. So then, why are customers asking for a maintenance contract? It could be that customers are:
Ironically, it is better for any landlord to not have any maintenance contract than to get the cheapest quote and the wrong guys to come in and mess up the system. But please bear in mind that taking up a maintenance contract will not put an end to endless water dripping problem, bacteria infested air conditioner, nor low efficiency caused by a choked fan coil. It is common that even with a maintenance contract; a proper and thorough chemical cleaning is still needed after extended usage of the air conditioner. So please do not start barbecuing, burn essential oil or burn incense in your apartment after taking up a maintenance contract. The root problem with modern air conditioners is that they are built more compact and as such they choke more rapidly; especially when used in a all year hot and humid place like Singapore, the fan coil can choke or become moldy as soon as 1-3 years. When it is choked, general servicing is only a quick fix solution, with quick return call that frustrates everybody. A moldy and bacteria infested air conditioner is no longer a concern whether the air conditioner belongs to you or not, you are the occupant and it is your health that suffers. Therefore, to solve the problem from the root is to conduct thorough cleaning method using chemJET, at least once in a year on each air conditioner, and yet not blow your budget. You will receive an email report "real time". Normally, a simple domestic air conditioner should not take more than an hour for a proper diagnosis. But, commercial units may take loner time. Upon inspection of your air conditioning system, a picture can be taken and a report will be sent to your email account. Please note that we only provide email support, no fax, no printed copies. Based on our report, you can forward the email to any relevant person involved, for example, your landlord for any necessary action.
